Dear Friend
It’s Been on My Mind
Hello. The door that closes the washing and toilet facilities at the office is slightly difficult to shut. That is because the door interferes with the door frame. The top door hinge had pulled away by 3mm causing the door to interfere. Therefore to shut the door it has to be given a deliberate pull (with slight force) and only then can the bolt be drawn to lock the door. For five years nobody has done anything about it. Nobody cares. We can all live with it. The door could fall off and Paul would not notice.
It has been on my mind to tackle the problem for years but only until today did I do something about it. Screws from the top hinge were removed and replaced by longer and larger ones. The result was that the hinge was pulled back firmly in its rightful place. The door closes easily and quietly now as there is no interference. It is a joy to use. Will anyone notice except me? I doubt it.
There are other things on my mind. Some are important and others of no or little importance. The Holy Spirit puts things on our hearts and minds. Let’s do it and not waste time or quench the Spirit. Let’s keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5 v 25) and Christ. What else is on my mind? Write to my Muslim friend about how and why Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour. Speak to Café Nero about sponsoring a child in Arica. What is on your mind?
