The Sad Cat
As we walked by the beautiful house that faced the lake and sea there stood a cat outside the front door of where it lived. It was a warm summer's day. The cat was sad. Honestly. Its owner spoke to us and told us they had just returned from being away having left the cat behind, who was looked after by someone else. However, the owner told us the cat was not happy. Its behaviour had changed when they returned. The hurt the cat felt, changed its behaviour. The owner said the cat would not look at them and turned its back on them. It seems the cat felt abandoned and missed their owners. Even cats get sad. Some people think cats don't have feelings. As I looked at this cat by the front door with its back to the owner, ignoring her, it looked sad. I told the owner of the cat, I would pray for the cat. She liked that. The wonderful owner really cared for the cat and was now concerned for it.
God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't He more surely care for us? Let's have faith in Him. Jesus says, let's learn from the birds. '...Your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to Him then they are' (Matthew 6:26 and 30).
May the good Lord bless us His people and the cat.
